Father takes own life after murdering 3 family members in Luweero

Luweero – The gruesome murder by hanging of three family members and injury of two others was by the head of the family, police have said.

According to the facts gathered by police, a one Steven Musisi, a 68-year-old father has been having a domestic conflict with his wife, Aisha Nagayi, for having produced two children with another man.

On the night of July 5, 2023, Musisi allegedly hacked his wife and mother to his children to death as well as Esther Namiiro aged 9 and Jonathan Mutebi aged 1 and a half years. He also reportedly inflicted grave injuries to Carol Namutebi aged 7 and Cathy Namuddu aged 5.

According to police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the mother and two children, were got in different beds with deep cuts on their heads.

It’s noted that the family had no conflict in the area, where they had spent four years after migrating from Kikololomba village in Busiika.

“The head of this family after attacking his family, and presuming them all dead, picked a rope and hanged himself on the door to his bedroom at Bukomba village, Nakikooda parish in Luweero district.m The two victims Namutebi Carlo and Namuddu Cathy are still in critical condition at Luweero Hospital,” said Enanga

The police spokesperson condemned such acts of brutality.

“The suspect in this case was rife with jealousy, over his stepchildren. Parents, guardians, half parents should stop viewing children in their path as their possession. The young children’s right to life, was violated.

He encouraged all persons in toxic family relationships to report their concerns to the Child and Family Protection Unit, LC, or Probation office where they will get the necessary assistance.
