Activate body and spirit for meaningful life, MP Rwakajara urges youth

Kampala – Arinaitwe Rwakajara, the Worker’s Member of Parliament, delivered an inspiring message to young leaders during the graduation ceremony for the 2023 Young Leaders Forum (YLF) program trainees by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung organization.

The MP emphasized the importance of a holistic approach to life, urging youths to activate both their bodies and spirits to achieve meaningful and impactful lives.

Addressing the audience at the graduation, Rwakajara highlighted the significance of an indomitable spirit in overcoming challenges. He stressed that a strong spirit, when combined with a healthy body, paves the way for achieving even the loftiest goals. “Your body is the vessel that houses your spirit, so it’s crucial to nourish it with the right foods and engage in regular physical exercise,” he advised.

Rwakajara expressed his concerns about certain cultural practices that may hinder the country’s progress. He called for a transformation in mindset and practices, encouraging the young leaders to study and understand how countries evolve and develop over time. “Your contributions will only be recognized if you approach transformation with wisdom and knowledge,” he emphasized.

This year’s YLF program saw the graduation of 29 young individuals who underwent the intensive training offered by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung organization. Rwakajara stressed that maintaining a healthy body is vital for sustaining the impact of their efforts.

“Strive for excellence, distinguish between what matters and what doesn’t, and remember that constant action is key. In a world increasingly leaning towards automation, activating both your body and spirit is crucial,” he asserted.

The Young Leaders Forum, a five-month training program, is designed to equip socially active individuals under the age of 30 with the political, social, and economic knowledge needed to advocate for justice and good governance.

Rwakajara’s passionate call for a balanced and proactive approach to life resonated deeply with the participants, motivating them to embrace their roles as catalysts for positive change.

As the program concluded for the March to August 2023 cohort, Rwakajara’s message remained ingrained in the hearts and minds of the young leaders, serving as a reminder of the significance of holistic development in their journey towards creating a brighter future for Uganda.
