Minister Anite to visit Dokolo district over industrial park land

The state minister for Investments Evelyn Anite will next week on Thursday visit Dokolo district to follow up on the progress of establishing an industrial park.

Recently, Dokolo district local government offered 200 acres of land to the Uganda Investment Authority to establish an industrial park.

The land is located at Koroto Northern Ward in Dokolo town council.

Uganda Investments Authority also signed a memorandum of understanding with the district as a way of formalizing this development.

The chief administrative officer Dokolo Isa Mbooge confirmed that Anite will be in the district on Thursday next week to follow up the matter.

The industrial area is expected to offer job opportunities to the people of Dokolo district and beyond in addition to other economic benefits.

The director for industrial park development at Uganda Investment Authority Mr Hamza Galiwango in a recent visit to Dokolo district said their plan is to have industrial parks in Dokolo, Oyam and Lira district due to the availability of land.

According to him, the three parks are expected to create more than 10,000 jobs.
