14 Year Old Boy Killed For Having Epilepsy, Parents Arrested

Kalaki. A 40 -year-old man in Kalaki district is under police detention on allegation of murder.

The incident happened in Abiligalin village, Kaberpila parish, Ogwolo sub-county.

It’s reported that Mr. Simon Ocan and his wife Betty Anebo allegedly killed and buried Jacob Emiru (14) in a nearby swamp after he developed epilepsy.

Epilepsy is a central nervous system (neurological) disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal, causing seizures or periods of unusual behavior, sensations and sometimes loss of awareness.

The Officer in-Charge of Idamakan-Ogwolo Police station Gabriel Okello confirmed the arrest of the duo on suspicion by the community that they could have connived to kill their son.

‘‘I got the rumor and I really arrested them, I have not yet interrogated them, the community raised concern alleging that the parents killed and buried the child because of his condition” Okello added.

Mr. Micheal Ebwalu the village Chairperson of Abiligalin says Jacob Emiru disappeared a month ago and upon interrogation by the village council, the parents couldn’t tell factual information on the where abouts of their son.

That prompted him to report to security, who later swang into action to investigate the information.

This is not the first time murder cases are being reported in Kalaki district.
