Kalaki-After a week of battle for survival, Kalaki machete survivor finally succumbs to injuries.

Mr Simon Akwar Breathed his last on Thursday 4th November 2021 at 4:30Pm at Mulago National Referral hospital. George Eromu Erwocu, the son of the deceased, confirmed his death to this website.

The victim was evacuated to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital where he was further referred to Mulago National Referral Hospital.

Simon Akwar sustained multiple injuries after his biological son Mr Joseph Akwar allegedly tried to kill him on Tuesday 26th November 2021 after they developed wrangles over the sale of animals.

Simon Akwar (62) was a resident of Otule village, Anyara Moru Parish in Kalaki District.

Muhangi Edison the District Police Commander of Kalaki says the suspect (Joseph Akwar) will be arraigned before courts on murder charges.

‘‘The case which was attempted murder is now murder, this boy confessed to have killed the father, it’s a matter of getting the Police Form three and the suspect will be produced in courts,’’ Muhangi added.

His case is registered at Kalaki CPS under CRB: 145/2021. END
