Adventists Celebrate Festival of Re-union after Lock-down.

Churches under Northern Uganda Field (NUF)of Seventh-day Adventist on Saturday 20th November congregated to celebrate the re-union of members after religious institutions in Uganda suffered lock-down.

The celebrations dubbed Music Extravaganza were held under the theme ‘‘music for church development’’.

Over 1,000 congregants were in attendance at Abaler primary School playground with strict observance of the standard operating procedures.

March 2020 saw the start of COVID-19 cases rising rapidly in Uganda and Ugandan Government led by President Yoweri Museveni  Tibuhaburwa imposed a lock-down to curb the spread of Covid 19.

Pr. Robinson Okello the Field secretary of NUF said they opted to organize the unification with an aim of effecting the completion of four SDA Churches in Amolatar district.

Woman Member of Parliament for Amolatar district Dr. Agnes Atim Apea who was in attendance donated shillings three million to support the Church building.

Doreen Amule the former woman Member of Parliament of Amolatar district commended members of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church for being honest people and descent.

Elder Moses Okwir the Project organizing Officer for the re-union festival, explained that the two years lock-down left many churches uncompleted because congregational worship was suspended.

‘‘We had two reasons for celebration, one was to raise funds to complete uncompleted structures in four church districts of Namasale, Lake Kyoga, Amolatar and Agikdak. The major reason of all was re-union because Covid 19 separated Christians for nearly two years now’’Okwir added.

Over shillings 10 million is required for the completion of the structures in the four Church districts of Amolatar under Northern Uganda Field.
