Kalaki – A couple that had just held their introduction ceremony in Kalaki district is nursing wounds at Lwala Hospital following an accident that happened along Kalaki – Soroti road on Sunday.
Julius Ongwen and Sharon Ajibo had a successful introduction ceremony in Omor village, Kadinya parish, Kalaki district on Saturday but their joy was cut short on Sunday when they got involved in the accident that almost claimed their lives on their way back home in Tororo.
The accident involved a Mark 2 vehicle registration number UAQ 170M which the couple and three other yet to be identified persons were traveling in. They were all rushed to Lwala Hospital for emergency treatment.
Wamala Siraj, the Kalaki traffic officer has confirmed the accident which he blamed on over speeding and reckless driving.
He says a case has been registered at Kalaki Central Police Station under TAR 02/2022 and the police are hunting for the driver of the vehicle who freed the scene after causing the accident.
