Covidex finally lands to inventors’ home town Kalaki as MP Ayo donates.

There is joy and excitement in Kalaki District the ancestral town of associate professor Dr Patrick Ogwang Engeu the inventor of Covidex herbal medicine after the woman MP Jennifer Ayo donated the medicine to the district task force to be used for supportive treatment in the management of covid-19 patients.

On Friday, Kalaki Woman member of Parliament Jennifer Ayo handed over 400 pieces of 20mls of Covidex herbal medicine to the district covid-19 task force led by RDC Paul Kwalikwan for onward distribution to patients undergoing home base care treatment.

Speaking during the hand over Ayo asked the district task force to take charge of the distribution of the herbal medicine to the covid-19 patients under home base care but that it should be done thorough supervision of medical workers.

Ayo urged the people not to relent but continue religiously following the standard operating procedures to contain the spread of covid-19 in the communities.

The resident district commissioner of Kalaki Paul Kalikwan said the first priority will be for those receiving treatment from home and they be given at least one bottle of 20mls of Covidex.

The former female district youth councilor Angella Ariso says the donation will be vital in preventing the escalation of the cases in the district.

Simon Eolu a resident of central ward Otuboi town council Kalaki district commended Dr Ogwang for showing leadership by inventing the herbal medicine and lauded MP Ayo for being exemplary by paying the cost of the medicine and having it delivered to the people.

Eolu asked the task force to ensure that the medicine reaches the intended users and be transparent in the distribution.

Recently Kalaki District Task force on Covid received a donation of 740 liters of fuel from the Minister of state for Teso affairs Clement Ongalo Obote,the principal private secretary to the President Dr Kenneth Olusegun Omona and Director Internal Security Organization Lt Col Charles Oluka.

Currently the district has over 100 patients of covid-19 receiving the home base treatment with a cumulative of 1000 cases who have tested positive.
