Uganda and South Africa strengthen bilateral ties at summit

Kampala – In a display of solidarity and a commitment to mutual growth and development, Uganda and South Africa have convened at a landmark summit.

The 2nd Uganda-South Africa trade and investment summit being held in Kampala has drawn diplomats, government officials, and business leaders from both nations marking a significant step forward in the burgeoning partnership between Uganda and South Africa.

Uganda’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Paul Amoru, expressed the shared enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “This summit serves as a testament to the strong and growing partnership between our two great nations, Uganda and South Africa. It’s a reflection of the collaborative spirit that drives us to explore new horizons and seize the abundant opportunities that lie before us.”

“Uganda, known for its rich natural resources and dynamic business environment, is poised to engage more with the global community, while South Africa, a key player on the African continent and globally, is ready to contribute its expertise and investments,” he added.

While opening the summit, the State Minister for Animal Industry Bright Rwamirama emphasized the importance of the private sector in driving growth and development. “Both countries attach great importance to the private sector as an engine for growth and development,” he stated.

Bilateral discussions between Uganda and South Africa have already commenced at both technical and ministerial levels to address challenges faced by the private sector and promote business opportunities.
