The Paramount Chief of Tekwaro Lango Eng. Dr. Moses Michael Odongo Okune has offered  UGX 10 Million  to support the establishment of the cultural institution’s Sacco.

The money was handed over to the supreme clan leaders Monday during a cabinet meeting for the faction of clan leaders who pay allegiance to Odongo Okune.

According to Dr Odongo, the Sacco is intended to promote saving and investment culture amongst the clan chiefs. The money will attract low interest rates for the clan chiefs who would wish to borrow from the Sacco.

He also asked the cultural leaders to be at the fore front of propelling agricultural production and productivity amongst their subjects to enhance house hold incomes and better the quality of living.

Odongo also used the same meeting to castigate the civil servants who have been involved in the alleged fraud of Emyoga funds asking government to decisively bring the perpetrators to book and ensure the money is fully recovered.

Prime Minister Luciano Opio Omara applauded Dr Odongo for his gesture of leading by example and action.

Omara says the Sacco will energies the clan chiefs in fighting poverty amongst their people.
