Manafwa – A three-months-old toddler who was stolen from its mother while attending prayers at Pastor Tom Mugerwa’s Mutundwe Christian Fellowship Church in Kampala has been recovered in Manafwa.
Rose Namata, the mother of the boy child registered a disappearance case at Natete police station after it went missing from the church on January 25, 2022.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, Katwe police which took over the case working with Manafwa police arrested the suspect Hajara from Manafwa with another child whom she had stolen in the same area.
“The suspect told police that she had lied to her boyfriend how she had given birth to twins and was taking the two children to him.” Owoyesigyire said
The suspect is currently detained at Manafwa police station on allegations of child stealing.
Owoyesigyire warned the public to be careful with whomever they trust their children with, since a lot of women have in the recent times started stealing children to lie to their spouses that they have given birth.
