Kampala – Makerere University celebrated the exceptional achievements of its students in grand style, hosting a convocation luncheon in honour of the PhD, Master’s, and first-class degree recipients from its numerous colleges. The event, characterised by pomp and scholarly distinction, was graced by the presence of notable figures, including Dr. Muvawala as the guest of honour.
As the Vice Chancellor Professor Barnabas Nawangwe, and all college heads of Makerere University took their seats amongst the distinguished attendees, the air buzzed with the promise of the university’s theme for the event: “Living Beyond Degrees.” This theme echoed the university’s vision, inspiring graduates to leverage their academic success for greater societal contributions.
Notably, Hon. Rwakajara, Member of Parliament for Workers, addressed the gathering with insightful remarks. Reflecting on the significance of the degrees and the academic journey, he called upon the graduates to apply their skills and knowledge in purposeful and transformative ways.
